The children were busy incorporating the letter “Ss,” with Christmas themed activities. The children made Santas and snowflakes. We also attended our first mass. Although the morning started out a little rough, the children did a great job sitting quietly through the celebration of mass. We will not start a new letter next week because the children are going to have a busy week with the many activities going on at school, as well as some Christmas projects we will continue to work on. Christmas Program Attire: The girls should wear Christmas colors. The boys should wear a Christmas colored nice shirt and dark dress pants. It will be cold that night, so please dress your child warm. If your child wears a sweater, it must be a solid color, without characters or colorful designs. Next week is a short week, and we will be practicing for the Christmas program. The children know their songs, and we are very proud of them. We will keep our fingers crossed that they do well and don't get too nervous in front of a large audience. Also, on Thursday, school will end at 12:30. Mrs. Giron would the children to go home to rest and eat, so they will be ready for the program. The Christmas Program will begin at 5:30pm sharp. This week we worked on the letter “Pp.” We made Pizza for the letter “Pp” in our letter book. The children made penguins and popcorn all to tie in with the letter “Pp.” We also read the book, “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus,” several times, and then we made pigeons to tie it together. The children really enjoyed the book. The class has so been busy making Christmas decorations for the classroom. They also put together a wreath made out of puzzle pieces, then made Frosty the snow man, and colored a Christmas stocking. We also watched a video about St. Nicholas, whom we had a visit from. He left the children a little shoe with some goodies. The Pre-school class has been very busy getting ready for the Christmas Program. They know their songs, we will see how they do with an audience. We have also been learning about The Christmas story, and the Baby Jesus through books. We also put together the Nativity Scene which they enjoyed. Sheets and towels went home yesterday, please return them on Monday for rest time. The Church is asking for canned goods for Pan De Vida. In the spirt of the holidays season, let us help feed families in need. Christmas Show: Attire for girls is Christmas colored dresses. Boys should wear Christmas color dress shirts and dress pants.
