Dear Parents,
This week the children made strawberries out of red construction paper, to tie in with the color red. They colored red apples and red circles. In addition, the children cut red circles for their shape book. We also talked about the things we are able to see with the eyes God gave us. We have also been singing, which the children really seem to be enjoying. I would like to remind you that next week is a short week and there will be no school on Monday, September 2nd in honor of Labor Day. Next week we will be learning about the color blue and the square shape. Please have your child bring in something blue for the language chain. We will also be learning about the sense of hearing. Homework is attached to the Friday letter. Please have your child color the blueberries for the color of the week. I would like to thank those of you who ordered Scholastic book orders. All bonus points will go toward books and CDs for the classroom, which your children will enjoy. We will be having our Back to School night on Thursday, September 5th, at 6:00 pm. We will begin downstairs with Mrs. Giron. She will be going over all of the exciting things that will be going on this year. After meeting you will have the opportunity to visit your child’s /children’s classroom. If you have a child in another classroom, please go to their classroom first. If you have any questions, please feel free to talk to Mrs. Richardson or me. I would like to thank you for returning all your state forms; our classroom files are complete. Reminder: Monday: No School- Labor Day Tuesday: Bring in a small blue item Thursday: Back to school 6:00pm Friday: Return homework 12:30 dismissal Thank you, Mrs. Redden Dear Parents,
Welcome to the new school year. I am looking forward to all the new and exciting things your child will be learning and experiencing. The children are adjusting to their new surroundings, friends and teachers very well. Next week will start our first full week of school. If you have chosen the hot lunch program for your child, make sure you have registered online and have completed the information required. If you are sending lunch with your child, please make sure to send a healthy lunch. Additionally, you will need to send a healthy snack. Scholastic book orders are going home today, this is an inexpensive way to purchase books, and build your child’s library. They are due Friday, September 10th. If you order online, the code is N2W6Q. If you have not returned your state form, please do so as soon as possible. The completed forms for each child’s file are a state requirement. Please return them to me, those forms are part of our classroom files. The form that was sent home on Thursday is for permission to send you pictures that I will be taking throughout the year. For our first week, we will be learning the color red, the circle shape, and the sense of sight. Please have your child bring in a small red item for the language chain. Remember this is part of the curriculum, and your child needs to participate. Homework is attached to a hard copy of this letter and will go home today. Please complete and return it with your child on Monday. Have your child color the apple red, to introduce the color of the week. There will also be a Spanish translation, as the children will be introduced to Spanish as part of our curriculum this year. We will begin nap time beginning on Monday, please remind your child that they will be resting for a short time, and that they do not need to sleep, but do have to rest quietly on their cots. Hello, and welcome to your child's first year of school! This is a very exciting time in your child’s life, both socially and academically, and I would like to thank you for entrusting me with this incredible privilege. This year your child will be exposed to many engaging learning opportunities! We will learn about letters, shapes, colors, and numbers though a variety of activities. We will explore many of these things through music and art in the classroom. During the first week of school, there will be no rest time, this will make the transition easier for your child. Again, I am very excited to get to know you and your child throughout the school year. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me via email. Or through the office the number is 1(818) 766-1714. Thank you, Mrs. Redden |
